I had a dream I died today
In your arms, my blood drained
A wound gushing away,
Your shriek was high and strained.
For me you begged and prayed
But my silence was long and pained
I had a dream I died today
In a manner so sad and swift
My breath didn’t fade away
My body you tried to lift
And my heart was so dismayed
At the grief that saw you drift.
I had a dream I died today
Then I awoke from whence I lay
And right beside me, you still lay,
So silent and quite at peace
A smile on your, face as though to tease
And my breath began to ease.
