bitterness

Bitterness I heard
Is a beast
Unlike any other,
It soils the soul,
Buffs the bold
Humors the cold

Bitterness I heard
Is a black hole
Swallowing all the sweet
Till you see it no more
Spews out hate
Till life you distaste.

Bitterness I have seen
Sullen the strong,
Wreck the weak,
Blind the wise.
Revenge they may seek
And doom they find

Bitterness I have learnt
Is best spat out
In the barren see,
Smeared over by a smile
And a forgiving heart
Before time is up.
