TWISTED

We are all a little twisted
Twisted against our own nature
Twisted against society
Pulling in opposite directions
Caught in between

We are all a little twisted
Falling apart from within
Reaching for distant dreams
Trying to find balance
On a sea of fire

We are all a little twisted
Holding in our truth,
Letting out false truths;
Soaking up little lies
For one is more bearable
To most others

We are all twisted
Blistered on the inside
In need of cleansing
And healing balm
Perhaps even a soothing psalm
The untwisting
Of an aching nerve
