A hand has to be lent
Even when the fingers are bent
And the heart is rent
with a deep shocking rage
When humanity is full of rage
Kindness is fatal flaw
Where greed and hate don't thaw
And injustice is plain raw
Joy's ploy must bear fruit
To give hope heavily astute
When we fall to the ground,
And can't feel proud in the shroud
Thick and dark in shame
When the heart is to blame
Only a smile in us can tame
smile dear
for me,
for the world
smile dear
