Funny how we lose ourselves
Chasing between who we are
And who we want to be
Losing touch with what we love
Forgetting the favour in what we have
Then we reminisce
And get caught in the struggle
Between re-emerging and reimagining
Our present rediscovery
Then we fight with the image
Of past patterns and present habits
Merging into a being to love and hate
In equal measure
Caught up in the past and present
trudging towards the future
